SHIMONETA: A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty Jokes

Set in a dystopian Japan where all public references to sex, anatomy, and vulgarity have been thoroughly eradicated by the Prevention of Public Decenity in Adolescence Act, citizens are forced to wear Peace Makers—collars that monitor their biometrics and speech for any hint of impurity. In this sterile society, Tanukichi Okuma enrolls in the elite Public Morals National Ethics School, primarily to be close to his crush, the school council president and moral paragon Anna Nishikinomiya. However, Tanukichi’s peaceful student life is instantly derailed when he is blackmailed by Ayame Kajou, an eccentric, masked freedom fighter known as SOX. Ayame reveals herself to be the mastermind behind the infamous terrorist group spreading lewd pamphlets and pranks across the nation.Desperate to protect his secret, Tanukichi is forced to join SOX as its unwilling foot soldier.
