In the vibrant, chaotic depths of Hell, Princess Charlie Morningstar faces a deeply
personal crisis. Due to
overpopulation, Heaven executes an annual "Extermination" to slaughter sinners, a cruel reality that breaks Charlie’s empathetic heart. Driven by unwavering optimism and a dream of redemption, Charlie resolves to open the Hazbin Hotel, a sanctuary where condemned souls can reform their behavior, earn divine grace, and ascend to Heaven. Despite widespread mockery from Hell’s cynical denizens, Charlie secures her first patron: Angel Dust, a flamboyant, drug-addicted adult film star.Skeptical about the hotel’s viability, the enigmatic and immensely powerful Radio Demon, Alastor, suddenly appears. Amused by Charlie’s grand ambition and seeking a front-row seat to her inevitable failure, Alastor offers his formidable protection and promotional skills. With the hotel staff—including Alastor’s shadow-manipulating associate Husk and the anxious, hyperactive housekeeper Niffty—now assembled, Charlie begins her rehabilitation sessions. The guests struggle immensely against their intrinsic vices, but glimpses of genuine progress emerge, highlighted by the fragile, growing bond between Angel Dust and the straitlaced, recovering overlord Sir Pentious, who eventually infiltrates the hotel as a spy before genuinely converting.Tensions escalate dramatically when Sir Pentious’s master, the megalomaniacal Overlord Vox, senses Alastor’s growing influence and plots to crush the establishment. Simultaneously, Heaven takes notice of Charlie’s defiance. During a tense diplomatic meeting with the angelic bureaucracy, Charlie fails to convince the intimidating Adam, the First Man and leader of the Exterminations, of sinners' capacity for change. Adam accelerates the extermination timeline, declaring an immediate assault on the Hazbin Hotel. As the angelic army descends, Hell’s forces rally to defend the sanctuary. A brutal, cataclysmic battle ensues within the hotel’s walls. Alastor engages in a ferocious duel with Adam, sustaining near-fatal injuries before narrowly escaping. Sir Pentious makes the ultimate sacrifice, launching a desperate, self-sacrificial attack on Adam that destroys his own physical form, though his noble act miraculously earns him instant redemption, resulting in his soul reappearing in Heaven. Enraged by the carnage, Charlie and her fiercely protective girlfriend, Vaggie—who is shockingly revealed to be a former angelic executioner with clipped wings—unleash their full power. They manage to corner Adam, who is ultimately slain by the hotel’s diminutive chef, Razzle, and Niffty. With the dust settled and the hotel completely decimated, the victory is bittersweet. However, the discovery that Sir Pentious successfully ascended shatters the fundamental rules of the afterlife, proving to Charlie and the rest of Hell that redemption is genuinely possible. As Charlie surveys the rubble and begins drafting blueprints to rebuild her sanctuary, a triumphant new era dawns. Meanwhile, in the golden halls of Heaven, a bewildered Sir Pentious arrives before a council of high-ranking angels, setting the stage for an impending theological war.
