On her thirteenth birthday, ambitious and insecure Anne Boonchuy is manipulated by her wealthy best friend, Sasha Waybright, into stealing a mysterious magical music box. Upon opening it, the artifact transports Anne to Amphibia, a wild, swampy planet populated by talking anthropomorphic amphibians. Separated from her friends, Anne is taken in by the Plantars: excitable young pollywog Polly, lovable and naive grandfather Hop Pop, and Sprig, an adventurous frog who becomes her first true friend.
