In a futuristic Kansai—a cyberpunk dystopia recovering from a devastating civil war against Kanto—a seemingly ordinary female
office worker known simply as Ordinary Person accidentally crosses paths with Courier, a notoriously skilled criminal on a high-stakes mission. When Ordinary Person attempts to return a lost coin, she unwittingly becomes an accomplice in springing Courier and five other death-row criminals known as Akudama from prison: Cutthroat, Brawler, Hacker, Doctor, and Hoodlum. Released by a mysterious holographic Executioner Boss, the Akudama are tasked with executing a series of heists centered around the Kansai Shinkansen. Unknown to them, this jailbreak was orchestrated as a setup to force these violent outlaws to retrieve classified cargo from Kanto, effectively turning them into disposable pawns. As the crew embarks on their chaotic train heist, they are relentlessly pursued by the Executioners, elite law enforcement officers wielding deadly Luminescence-powered weapons, led by the zealous Pupil and her seasoned mentor, Master. During the brutal clashes that ensue, the true nature of the Akudama’s mission is revealed: the cargo consists of two children, a
brother and sister who are actually artificial biological entities functioning as the living heart and control system of Kansai. Cutthroat, driven by a twisted, romantic obsession with blood and a compulsion to kill, becomes fascinated by Ordinary Person, perceiving her as a kindred spirit. This psychological torment forces Ordinary Person to rapidly shed her timid nature, gradually adopting a ruthless persona and embracing the title of "Akudama" to survive.Meanwhile, the city of Kansai descends into panic as the Shinkansen hurtles toward Kanto. The Executioners suffer heavy casualties, culminating in Master’s tragic death at the hands of Cutthroat, which pushes Pupil to seek vengeance at any cost. Inside the speeding train, the Akudama begin to turn on one another due to competing selfish motivations, leading to the brutal deaths of Brawler, Hacker, and Hoodlum. Courier and Ordinary Person, now fiercely protective of the two children, manage to fend off the remaining pursuers and breach the inner sanctum of the train. They finally reach the Kanto border, a sterile, automated paradise starkly contrasting Kansai's neon slums. However, they discover Kanto is completely uninhabited by humans, maintained solely by automated systems that harvest the children to sustain Kansai's illusion of prosperity. Refusing to let the children be sacrificed, Courier and Ordinary Person engage in a devastating final battle against the remaining defense forces. Mortally wounded, Courier entrusts the children to Ordinary Person, who sacrifices herself to ensure their escape into the wasteland beyond, leaving behind a legacy of rebellion that shatters the oppressive status quo of Kansai forever.
