Sunderlal Jaiswal, a man deeply rooted in his
traditional values, finds his life spiraling into a chaotic web of deception when he falls for Aarti, a modern and independent woman. Working in Mumbai, Sunderlal fears that his conservative employer, Dhirubhai Jhaveri, will never approve of his marriage if he reveals he is an orphan. In a desperate attempt to gain favor, Sunderlal concocts an elaborate, sprawling lie: he claims to have a large,
traditional family living in his hometown of Rajkot. This impulsive fabrication forces Sunderlal to invent a fake identity for himself and, more dangerously, stage an entire fake family life to appease his boss.As the narrative progresses, the lie grows exponentially, turning into a high-stakes game of cat and mouse. Sunderlal recruits his eccentric friend, Jai, to play the role of his father, leading to a series of farcical complications. The comedy intensifies as Dhirubhai decides to visit Sunderlal’s "family" in Rajkot to finalize the union. To keep the charade alive, Sunderlal must constantly juggle identities, bribe neighbors, and orchestrate elaborate setups to maintain the illusion of his traditional upbringing. Every time he thinks he is safe, a new obstacle—ranging from suspicious relatives to unexpected houseguests—threatens to expose his duplicity. The heart of the series lies in the tension between Sunderlal’s genuine love for Aarti and the mounting pressure of his deceit. His motivation is rooted in a misguided desire to belong and please his mentor, but as the web tightens, he faces the moral dilemma of whether his happiness is worth the price of a permanent lie. The show masterfully balances slapstick humor with the looming threat of heartbreak, as the audience watches Sunderlal teeter on the edge of social ruin. Each episode serves as a testament to the idea that while a small lie might seem like a shortcut to happiness, the effort required to maintain it often creates a far more complicated reality. As the truth inches closer to the surface, Sunderlal must confront the reality that true connection cannot be built on a foundation of falsehoods, leading to a series of climactic revelations that test the limits of his relationships and personal integrity.
