Set in the aftermath of the original documentary phenomenon, the town of Burkittsville, Maryland, is overrun by "Blair Witch" tourists, much to the dismay of local residents. Among them is Jeff Patterson, a recently released psychiatric patient fascinated by the mythology, who operates a lucrative "Blair Witch Hunt" tour business out of his isolated, high-tech woodland home.Jeff’s first tour group arrives, consisting of Erica, a Wiccan; Stephen, a cynical true-crime author writing a book about the murders; and his pregnant girlfriend, Tristen, alongside goth academic Kimberly. Seeking shelter from a storm, the group spends the night at the ruins of Rustin Parr’s house in the Black Hills Forest. They consume copious amounts of alcohol and wake up the next morning to an apocalyptic scene: their expensive recording equipment is smashed, their car tires are slashed, and carved runes cover the trees. Most disturbingly, they all suffer from profound, localized amnesia, unable to account for the preceding several hours of the night.Retreating to Jeff’s sprawling, camera-monitored warehouse fortress, the group attempts to piece together the missing hours by reviewing the salvaged footage. However, reality quickly begins to unravel. As they watch the tapes, strange visual anomalies, bleeding wounds, and physical transformations plague them. Tristen begins experiencing violent phantom labor pains, while Kimberly starts hearing terrifying voices and displaying erratic, feral behavior. Stephen becomes increasingly paranoid, convinced that Jeff is orchestrating a sadistic psychological experiment using hidden triggers and subliminal messaging. The
psychological tension explodes into
brutal violence. Driven by an unseen, malevolent entity possessing the house, the friends turn on one another in a blood-soaked frenzy. Erica is brutally killed, followed by Stephen, whose skepticism is violently shattered too late. Kimberly and Jeff realize the footage itself acts as a conduit for the witch’s curse, manipulating time, space, and memory. Tristen, now fully under the entity's demonic sway, gives birth under horrific circumstances, leading to a shocking revelation about the nature of their shared possession and the inescapable web of the Blair Witch. The film abruptly shifts back to reality, showing police interrogating the surviving tour members. As authorities review the chaotic, blood-stained tapes, they uncover the terrifying truth: the group was manipulated into reenacting the ancient horrors of the woods, proving that the legend of the Blair Witch is not just a myth, but a living, breathing curse that consumes everyone who seeks to capture it on film.
