In the rain-slicked underbelly of Gotham City, Bruce Wayne operates as the brooding vigilante known as The Batman, striking primal fear into the hearts of corrupt criminals. Two years into his punishing crusade, a sadistic serial killer calling himself the Riddler emerges, targeting Gotham's high-ranking elite through a series of elaborate, cryptic murders. When the city’s corrupt mayor is brutally assassinated, Batman is pulled into the investigation by Lieutenant James Gordon, the GCPD’s only honest cop, navigating a treacherous labyrinth of political deceit and institutional decay. As the body count rises, Riddler’s twisted games expose the rotten core of Gotham’s infrastructure, directly implicating the Wayne family legacy in a web of organized crime and fraudulent renewal funds. Along the way, Batman crosses paths with Selina Kyle, a cunning cat burglar working inside the Iceberg Lounge—a neon-lit club run by the Penguin, a high-ranking lieutenant for the ruthless mob boss Carmine Falcone. Arrested and confined to Arkham Asylum, Nashton’s master plan is far from finished. He unleashes his ultimate, catastrophic endgame: a coordinated terrorist attack by his fanatical online followers that blows Gotham’s seawalls, plunging the metropolis into a state of submerged, apocalyptic chaos. Amid the rising floodwaters, Nashton’s snipers target the newly elected mayor at a crowded evacuation shelter. Embodying vengeance, Batman fights fiercely to protect the innocent, realizing his terrifying persona must evolve. Instead of being a creature of pure retribution, he chooses to become a symbol of active hope and salvation for Gotham. In the aftermath, as the city begins to reckon with its devastation, Selina leaves for greener pastures, and Batman remains committed to rebuilding a fractured metropolis from the murky depths, understanding that the hardest battles still lie ahead in the relentless shadows.
