The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

During the Blitz, four Pevensie siblings—Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy—are evacuated to an eccentric professor’s sprawling country estate. While playing hide-and-seek, young Lucy hides inside a dusty, seemingly ordinary wooden wardrobe, only to discover it opens into the perpetually snowy, enchanted realm of Narnia. There, she meets a lonely faun named Tumnus, who explains that the land is cursed by the tyrannical White Witch, Jadis, who has plunged Narnia into a hundred-year winter where it is always Christmas never.Edmund soon stumbles through the wardrobe himself and falls under the hypnotic, seductive spell of the White Witch, who lures him in with supernatural Turkish Delight and promises to make him king in exchange for betraying his siblings. Upon returning, Edmund initially denies Narnia's existence, but soon all four children are forced through the portal to escape a housekeeper.Upon entering, they discover Tumnus has been arrested for treason by the Witch’s secret police. The children are rescued by Mr. and Mrs. Beaver, who reveal an ancient prophecy: two sons of Adam and two daughters of Eve, sitting upon four thrones at Cair Paravel, will finally break the Witch's icy reign. Driven by greed and sugar-addiction, Edmund sneaks away to the Witch’s frozen castle to deliver his family into her clutches, unknowingly walking into a trap.Meanwhile, Peter, Susan, and Lucy journey toward the Stone Table to meet the majestic, true ruler of Narnia, the golden lion Aslan. As Edmund arrives at the castle, the Witch realizes the other children are protected and places Edmund in chains, intending to use him as leverage. Aslan’s formidable army mobilizes, launching a daring rescue mission that frees Edmund, though the traitor remains deeply conflicted and wracked with guilt.To prevent a bloody civil war and satisfy deep magic, Aslan secretly trades his own life to the White Witch, allowing her to brutally execute him on the Stone Table. However, ancient magic deeper than the Witch understands resurrects the lion, empowering him to storm the Witch’s fortress, shatter her wand, and vanquish her tyranny once and for all. The children are crowned kings and queens of Narnia, ruling wisely for years until they accidentally stumble back through the wardrobe as children, realizing that while a lifetime passed in Narnia, only seconds had elapsed in the real world.
