In 1973, after the infamous Sawyer family massacre in rural Texas, an angry local mob surrounds their farmhouse and burns it to the ground, seemingly killing everyone inside. Unbeknownst to the townsfolk, a surviving infant named Heather is rescued from the fiery wreckage by one of the vigilantes, Loretta Sawyer, who secretly raises her as her own. Decades later, a twenty-something Heather Miller learns she was adopted after receiving a letter about an inheritance from a grandmother she never knew she had. Thrilled by the prospect of a fresh start, Heather packs her bags and hits the road for Texas with her boyfriend Ryan, her best friend Nikki, and a hitchhiker named Kenny whom they picked up along the way. Upon arriving at the decaying, isolated estate, Heather discovers she has inherited a sprawling Victorian mansion along with a stern, cryptic warning letter from her deceased grandmother. Ignoring the instructions, Kenny wanders into the basement, where he stumbles upon the massive, deformed Leatherface—still alive and harboring a lethal grudge. Leatherface brutally slaughters Kenny with a sledgehammer and proceeds to hunt down the rest of the terrified youths. Ryan dies in a car trap, and Nikki is cornered and sliced to pieces with the iconic roaring chainsaw. Amidst the carnage, Heather discovers the terrifying truth about her lineage through old photographs and newspaper clippings: she is a Sawyer, and Leatherface is her surviving cousin. When the corrupt local sheriff, Hoyt, and his deputies capture Heather and bring her to the police station to cover up their past crimes, Leatherface slaughters the
corrupt officers to protect his newly found blood relative. Realizing the townsfolk were the true monsters who murdered her biological family in cold blood, Heather's loyalties shift entirely. Driven by newfound familial solidarity, she embraces her dark heritage and returns to the
slaughterhouse. There, she faces off against the remaining vengeful vigilantes, ultimately teaming up with Leatherface to deliver a gruesome, violent justice to the corrupt mayor and his cronies. In the final, haunting moments, Heather looks past the rotting corpses and the blood-soaked chainsaw, choosing to accept Leatherface as her family, stepping fully into her legacy as the new matriarch of the terrifying Sawyer household.
