The Best Movies and TV Shows Like Spiral: From the Book of Saw

Detective Ezekiel "Zeke" Banks is an outcast within the South Metropolitan Police Department, despised by his peers for breaking the blue wall of silence to expose a corrupt fellow cop. Despite his isolation, Zeke is dedicated to cleaning up the precinct, a mission shared only by his rookie partner, William Schenk. The city is currently haunted by a copycat killer targeting police officers, mimicking the brutal, torturous methods of the long-dead Jigsaw Killer. The terror hits close to home when Zeke’s partner, Schenk, is seemingly abducted and murdered, left hanging in a horrific trap that forces Zeke to race against the clock. As the body count rises, the killer leaves personalized messages for Zeke, drawing him deeper into a twisted game. Desperate for help, Zeke enlists his estranged father, Marcus Banks, the revered and former police chief whose controversial past policies birthed the department’s current systemic corruption.Zeke and Marcus follow a trail of clues that lead them to an abandoned meatpacking plant, the presumed lair of the Jigsaw copycat. However, the investigation shatters when Zeke is captured and Marcus is strung up in a lethal suspension harness. The mastermind reveals himself: William Schenk. Far from dead, Schenk faked his own demise. His motivation is deeply personal and rooted in the department's corruption; specifically, Article 8, an infamous ordinance signed by Marcus that allowed cops to act with impunity, resulting in the murder of Schenk’s innocent father, who had threatened to expose rogue officers.Schenk offers Zeke a harrowing choice: save his father, who is slowly bleeding out, or sacrifice him to stop the trap. In a desperate bid, Zeke uses his service weapon to sever the chains holding his father's harness, believing he has neutralized the timer. However, Schenk triggers the trap remotely, sending Marcus back into the air where he becomes an impossible target for the heavily armed SWAT team that finally breaches the warehouse. Believing Marcus is a threat or caught in the crossfire, the panicking officers open fire, executing the former chief right in front of his devastated son. Meanwhile, amidst the chaotic gunfire and flashing lights, Schenk casually walks out of the building disguised as a wounded police officer, vanishing into the night and leaving Zeke utterly broken, betrayed by the very system he fought to redeem.
