Left for dead on a scorching, sun-baked desert planet, the notorious criminal Richard B. Riddick finds himself stripped of his power, gravely injured, and hunted. Driven by an innate survival instinct, Riddick adapts to the hostile environment, learning to tame the deadly predators that roam the desolate landscape, including scorpion-like mud demons and slither-beasts, transforming from prey back into an apex predator.Seeking a way off the barren rock, Riddick locates an abandoned mercenary outpost and triggers an emergency distress beacon. The signal attracts two competing ships: a crew of ruthless, rough-around-the-edges bounty hunters led by the unstable Boss Lockwood, and a second, more disciplined vessel captained by the cold, calculating Santana, who is obsessed with collecting Riddick’s head for a hefty bounty. Lockwood’s primary motivation, however, is not just the reward; he is desperate to uncover the truth about what happened to his son, William Johns, who vanished years earlier while tracking Riddick. As the ships touch down, tensions immediately flare between Santana’s aggressive thugs and Lockwood’s professional mercenaries. Riddick plays a psychological game of cat-and-mouse, picking off Santana’s men one by one in the shadows, using the rugged terrain and his surgically enhanced eyes to his advantage. Meanwhile, a fierce thunderstorm approaches, bringing with it a catastrophic ecological shift: the planet's subterranean alien population awakens from dormancy, emerging in swarms to slaughter anything in their path.Realizing that survival now depends on unity rather than rivalry, the remaining humans—including a hardened female mercenary named Dahl—must form an uneasy alliance with Riddick. They fortify the compound as night falls and the alien horde descends, resulting in a brutal, blood-soaked siege. Wave after wave of vicious creatures assault the barricades, testing the limits of human endurance and heavy weaponry as characters are violently picked off in the chaos.Amidst the carnage, Lockwood confronts Riddick about his son's fate. Riddick reveals that Johns was a corrupt, drug-addicted sadist who ultimately died by his own hand, though Riddick offers a measure of grim closure. As dawn breaks, leaving the compound devastated and blood-drenched, the few surviving mercenaries realize they owe their lives to the infamous outlaw. True to his word, Lockwood honors a deal for a ship. Riddick boards the spacecraft, leaving the harsh planet behind to continue his eternal quest to find his elusive home world of Furya, once again free, dangerous, and unapologetically untamed.
