"Return from Witch Mountain" is a 1978 American science fiction film and the sequel to the 1973 Disney film "Escape to Witch Mountain." The movie follows Tony (Bobby Jacoby) and Tia Malone (Kim Richards), two young orphans from another planet with supernatural powers. The siblings were being hunted by a group of government agents who sought to exploit their abilities, so they fled to Earth. The story picks up two years after the events of the first film. Tony and Tia are living on Earth, using their powers to help those in need. However, their peaceful existence is disrupted when they are discovered by a group of thugs working for a wealthy and
corrupt businessman, Jonathan Cabot (Todd Porter). Cabot has been searching for the telekinetic siblings, intending to use their powers for his own gain.Meanwhile, a kind-hearted scientist, Dr. Gillespie (Donald Pleasence), becomes aware of Tony and Tia's existence. He is determined to help the siblings and protect them from those who seek to harm them. Gillespie's motives, however, are not entirely altruistic, as he hopes to use the siblings' powers to advance his own scientific knowledge. As Cabot's men close in on Tony and Tia, the siblings find themselves in a desperate
fight for survival. They use their powers to evade their pursuers, but their efforts are hindered by the government agents, led by the ruthless agent, Lavinia (Stefanie Powers). Lavinia is determined to capture Tony and Tia, believing that their powers can be used to further the government's interests. The siblings' journey takes them from the streets of Los Angeles to the mountains of California, where they encounter a group of Native Americans who possess similar supernatural abilities. The Native Americans, led by the wise and ancient shaman, Grey Wolf (Alexander Knox), become allies to Tony and Tia, teaching them how to harness their powers and defend themselves against their enemies. As the stakes grow higher, Tony and Tia must confront their enemies in an epic battle. With the help of Dr. Gillespie and the Native Americans, the siblings use their powers to outwit and defeat their foes. In the end, Tony and Tia are able to return to their home planet, but not before they have left a lasting impact on the lives of those they encountered on Earth. The film concludes on a hopeful note, as the siblings look forward to a brighter future, free from the dangers and challenges they faced on their journey.
