When a tragic car accident claims the life of the First Lady, Secret Service agent Mike Banning is removed from the Presidential detail due to the lingering trauma of his failure to save her. Eighteen months later, Banning is working a mundane desk job at the Treasury Department while Benjamin Asher, the President of the United States, remains deeply estranged from him. This fragile status quo is shattered during a diplomatic meeting with the South Korean Prime Minister. A heavily armed paramilitary group, led by the brilliant but ruthless North Korean extremist Kang Yeonsang, executes a devastating, multi-pronged aerial and ground assault on the White House. The fortified building is rapidly overrun, and President Asher is taken hostage alongside his top cabinet members in the impenetrable subterranean bunker. Kang’s ultimate objective is to force the President to initiate the "Cerberus" protocol, a fail-safe system designed to detonate all American nuclear warheads within their silos, effectively neutralizing the United States as a global superpower. With the military command structure paralyzed and the remaining government leadership in disarray, Banning—the sole survivor of the initial breach—finds himself the only operative inside the complex.Driven by a desperate need for redemption and an unwavering sense of duty, Banning navigates the labyrinthine corridors, systematically dismantling Kang’s insurgency force while relaying critical intelligence to the Speaker of the House, who has assumed the role of Acting President. Banning’s motivation is purely personal: he must prove that his previous failure does not define his capability, and he must protect the man he still considers his President. As the countdown to the Cerberus detonation nears its conclusion, Banning engages in a visceral, high-stakes battle against Kang. He must overcome impossible odds, neutralizing the terrorists one by one while navigating the psychological weight of his past. Through raw grit, tactical ingenuity, and sheer physical endurance, Banning manages to disable the nuclear sequence, eliminate Kang, and secure the safety of the President. The film concludes with Banning’s full restoration to his position, having transformed his profound guilt into the ultimate act of heroism, successfully preventing a domestic apocalypse and preserving the nation’s survival.
