The globetrotting master thief Lupin III sets his sights on the legendary treasure of Harimao, a notorious World War II-era criminal who amassed a massive fortune stolen across
Southeast Asia. According to lore, Harimao’s wealth is hidden within a series of three diaries, which hold the key to the vault's exact location. Lupin is joined by his usual trusted associates: the stoic marksman Daisuke Jigen and the master swordsman Goemon Ishikawa XIII. However, Lupin’s notorious love-hate relationship with the cunning and seductive femme fatale Fujiko Mine complicates the mission, as her loyalties remain perpetually ambiguous.Hot on their trail is the relentless Inspector Koichi Zenigata of Interpol, whose lifelong obsession with apprehending Lupin drives him across international borders, dodging traps and collaborating with local authorities. Complicating matters further is a formidable and ruthless neo-fascist organization called the Bloody Ghost, led by the fanatical Sir Archer. The Bloody Ghost is desperate to acquire Harimao’s treasure to fund their dark global ambitions, believing the vast gold reserves will help them resurrect a fallen empire. The pursuit takes Lupin and his crew from the bustling streets of Bangkok to the dense, treacherous jungles of Malaysia. Along the way, Lupin crosses paths with Diana, a mysterious and fiercely independent young woman who turns out to be Harimao’s granddaughter. Seeking to honor her grandfather's legacy and keep the treasure out of the wrong hands, Diana reluctantly teams up with Lupin, though she remains wary of his notorious thievery. As the race reaches its climax, Lupin decodes the final diary, leading the various factions to a sprawling, booby-trapped underground fortress hidden deep within the jungle. Sir Archer and his mercenaries ambush the group, resulting in a chaotic showdown. Jigen and Goemon hold off the wave of mercenaries with
precision shooting and lightning-fast blade work, while Zenigata arrives in the midst of the chaos, momentarily caught between fighting the terrorists and trying to arrest Lupin. In the ensuing melee, Lupin outsmarts Sir Archer, triggering a collapse of the ancient vault. Rather than keeping the treasure for himself, Lupin allows the gold to remain sealed away, prioritizing his survival and the thrill of the chase over the riches. While the Bloody Ghost is dismantled and Sir Archer is left defeated, Diana finds closure regarding her grandfather's past. Lupin escapes into the night once again, leaving Zenigata empty-handed, proving that for the world's greatest thief, the true prize was never the gold, but the impossible adventure itself.
