Hanging out outside their usual convenience store, lifelong slackers Jay and Silent Bob are horrified to discover that their likenesses are being used for a major Hollywood film adaptation of *Bluntman and Chronic*, a comic book based on them. Worse yet, internet trolls on fan forums are viciously attacking the real-life duo, accusing them of being pathetic losers. Seeking vindication and realizing they are missing out on millions of dollars in residual payments, the pair embarks on a cross-country road trip from New Jersey to Los Angeles to halt production and force the studio to stop defaming their names.Along the way, the duo encounters a bizarre series of misadventures. They inadvertently hitch a ride with a quartet of gorgeous
animal liberation activists—Justice, Chrissy, Missy, and Sissy—who are actually planning a high-stakes heist to free animals from a testing laboratory. Smitten by Justice, Jay immediately agrees to help. The stoners also cross paths with a cynical hitchhiker, a foul-mouthed federal wildlife marshal named Willenholly who relentlessly pursues them, and even a fugitive security guard named Buford.Meanwhile, in Hollywood, neurotic director Chaka Luther King is under immense pressure to finish the movie, while the original comic's creator, Holden McNeil, feels immense guilt for selling out his friends. When the animal activists execute their laboratory raid, Jay and Silent Bob assist, but the activists are double-crossed and captured by the authorities. Driven by his love for Justice, Jay convinces Silent Bob that they must rescue the women before continuing their crusade against the studio. The duo infiltrates the movie studio lot disguised as monkeys, eventually crashing the very set of *Bluntman and Chronic*. Chaos ensues as Jay confronts the film's actors, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, while Silent Bob negotiates with the frantic director. Rather than shutting the production down entirely, a compromise is eventually reached. The studio agrees to pay Jay and Silent Bob a hefty financial settlement, ensuring their cut of the profits. With their names cleared, their bank accounts heavily padded, and their pride restored, Jay and Silent Bob finally part ways with Justice, who promises to see Jay after she serves her
community service. The triumphant duo returns home to their familiar turf outside the Quick Stop, forever immortalized in cinematic infamy, ready to resume their daily routine of lounging against the wall and observing the world go by.
