Three years after ascending the throne of Arendelle, Queen Elsa begins hearing a mysterious, ethereal siren’s call echoing from the north. Troubled yet drawn to the sound, Elsa accidentally awakens the elemental spirits of Nature—Earth, Fire, Water, and Air—causing a violent tempest that forces the kingdom's evacuation. Determined to protect her people and uncover the source of the magic, Elsa embarks on a perilous quest into the enchanted, mist-shrouded forest alongside her fiercely loyal sister Anna, Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven.Upon entering the forest, the group encounters the trapped members of Arendelle’s military and the indigenous Northuldra people, who have been locked in perpetual conflict for decades. The elemental spirits manifest aggressively, but Elsa manages to tame a volatile fire spirit—revealed to be a glowing salamander—and captures the elusive water spirit, the Nokk, a majestic horse made of fluid ice, establishing a deep, trusting bond with them.Driven by fragmented memories from a lullaby their late mother sang, Elsa presses on toward Ahtohallan, a mythical frozen river said to hold all answers. Along the way, tensions peak; Kristoff struggles to find the right moment to propose to Anna, while Elsa, driven by a dangerous martyr complex, insists on continuing alone across
the treacherous dark sea. She abandons Anna and Olaf to keep them safe, riding the Nokk into the heart of the glacier.Inside Ahtohallan, Elsa discovers the shocking truth: the magic voice is the memory of her mother, Iduna, and Arendelle’s grandfather, King Runeard, had deceitfully built a dam to weaken the Northuldra people, ultimately murdering their leader. Because of this historic betrayal, nature cursed the forest. As punishment for uncovering these dark truths, Elsa ventures too deep into the glacier's core and is completely frozen into solid ice, causing her magical illusion of Olaf to melt away in Anna’s arms in a heartbreaking moment of loss.Devastated by grief but resolute, Anna realizes what must be done to right the wrongs of the past. She lures the slumbering, towering Earth Giants toward the dam, provoking them into hurling massive boulders that shatter the structure. The resulting massive wall of water rushes toward Arendelle, but the newly freed Elsa thaws just in time, rushing back to use her immense power to freeze the floodwaters and save the kingdom at the very last second. With the curse finally broken and harmony restored, Elsa abdicates the throne to Anna so she can remain the protector of the
enchanted forest, while Anna and Kristoff happily reunite and become engaged.
