Ferdinand is a brooding, sophisticated architect living in a minimalist metropolitan apartment, whose life is defined by rigid routines and repressed desires. Haunted by the memory of a passionate, fleeting romance from his youth, Ferdinand spends his days drafting blueprints for structures he never intends to build, effectively insulating himself from the messy reality of human connection. His solitude is shattered when he encounters Elena, a vibrant and enigmatic free spirit who works at a high-end art gallery. Elena is everything Ferdinand is not: impulsive, tactile, and deeply attuned to the sensory pleasures of the world.Their initial meeting, sparked by a chance encounter during a torrential downpour, ignites an immediate and visceral attraction. As they begin a clandestine affair, Ferdinand finds his carefully constructed emotional walls eroding. Elena challenges him to shed his intellectual detachment and embrace the primal intensity of their physical relationship. Through a series of evocative, slow-burning sequences, the film explores the tension between Ferdinand’s desire for control and his growing obsession with Elena’s chaotic energy. However, the relationship is fraught with complications; Elena is entangled in a complex web of past commitments, and Ferdinand’s latent jealousy begins to manifest as a destructive force. The narrative reaches a dramatic turning point during a weekend retreat to a secluded coastal villa, where the isolation strips away their social veneers. Here, the power dynamic shifts as Ferdinand attempts to possess Elena entirely, leading to a series of confrontational arguments that expose the fragility of their bond. The film masterfully depicts the psychological toll of their mutual fixation, blurring the lines between love, lust, and psychological entrapment. As the truth about Elena’s motivations comes to light, Ferdinand is forced to confront the reality that his idealized vision of their union is a fantasy. In a climactic final act, Ferdinand must decide whether to continue chasing a mirage or to finally dismantle the structures of his own making. The movie concludes on an ambiguous note, leaving the audience to ponder the transformative, albeit scarring, nature of a desire that demands the total surrender of the self.
