The narrative follows Ashtray, a young African-American man who is sent back to South Central Los Angeles to live with his father—who ironically appears to be younger than him. Upon arrival, Ashtray reunites with his eccentric cousin, Loc Dog, a trigger-happy, hyper-energetic gangbanger who wears a massive nuclear bomb strapped to his back. Ashtray is immediately thrust into the chaotic reality of the inner city, where he must navigate the fine line between succumbing to neighborhood violence and forging a legitimate path for his future.Ashtray’s primary motivation is to figure out what he wants to do with his life, a struggle symbolized by his inability to decide which color Tommy Hilfiger shirt to wear. Soon after his arrival, he crosses paths with Dashiki, a hyper-sexualized single mother with an impossibly large brood of children from various fathers.
