Deep within a subterranean government facility, Eric Bartok, a brilliant low-level technician, monitors a deadly, shifting labyrinth of mechanized rooms known as the Cube. Unlike his superiors, Eric feels a stirring of empathy for the captives trapped inside. He becomes particularly invested in Cassi Lawton, a young woman who has woken up inside the lethal maze with no memory of how she arrived. Driven by a quiet moral crisis, Eric begins to covertly manipulate the Cube's internal systems, altering wall panels and bypassing traps to give Cassi and a handful of fellow prisoners a fighting chance at survival.Inside the Cube, the dynamic is tense and desperate. Alongside Cassi are several other abducted individuals, including a cynical career criminal, a terrified mathematician, and a blind man. As they navigate the shifting geometry, they quickly realize that every room presents a fatal puzzle involving chemical, sonic, or physical hazards. Casualties mount quickly through gruesome traps, heightening the
psychological terror. Yet, thanks to Eric’s invisible intervention, Cassi and a rugged man named Owen manage to progress further than any previous test subjects, sparking suspicion from the facility's brutal director, Jax.Jax oversees the project with cold detachment, viewing the human subjects as disposable collateral for a classified military-industrial experiment. When Jax notices statistical anomalies in the Cube’s operations—specifically the unprecedented survival rate of the remaining subjects—he launches an internal investigation. Eric’s covert assistance is soon uncovered by security protocols. Rather than fleeing, Eric resolves to commit the ultimate act of defiance: he physically enters the Cube himself to rescue Cassi and expose the facility's atrocities from the inside, fully aware that entering the maze is a one-way trip.Eric infiltrates the shifting structure, navigating the deadly corridors until he finally encounters Cassi and Owen. However, Jax is not far behind and activates the facility’s failsafe lockdown, sending heavily armed security forces into the maze. A bloody confrontation ensues inside the geometric horror. Though Eric manages to help Cassi and Owen reach the elusive exit hatch that supposedly leads to freedom, Jax captures Eric, condemning him to a horrifying fate. As the film concludes, Cassi steps out into a blinding white light, only to discover that her "escape" is merely a continuation of the facility's cruel
psychological torment, leaving the true nature of the Cube an inescapable nightmare.
