In the unforgiving dust of 1873 Arizona, a hardened outlaw known only as Jake Lonergan regains consciousness in the harsh desert. Nursing a mysterious wound and suffering from total amnesia, he discovers a strange, metallic shackle locked around his wrist. Driven by a desperate need to uncover his past and survive the elements, Jake rides into the desolate frontier town of Absolution, ruled with an iron fist by the ruthless cattle baron Woodrow Dolarhyde.Jake's arrival sparks immediate conflict. He quickly crosses paths with the town’s nervous sheriff, an eccentric preacher, and Dolarhyde’s arrogant, trigger-happy son, Percy. Just as tensions reach a boiling point, the sky erupts in fire. Ferocious, technologically advanced extraterrestrials descend upon the unsuspecting town in swift, devastating aircraft. Using lethal weapons and high-speed grapple lines, the invaders relentlessly hunt the townspeople, abducting dozens in a terrifying display of superior power. Among the captured is Percy Dolarhyde.Recognizing a common enemy, the fiercely independent Dolarhyde puts aside his bitter grudge against Jake to mount a
rescue mission. He forms an unlikely posse alongside the town preacher, a local bartender, and a mysterious, enigmatic drifter named Ella. Jake is soon plagued by fragmented, violent flashbacks that reveal crucial memories: he was once part of the alien vanguard, and the shackle on his wrist is actually a powerful
extraterrestrial weapon capable of destroying the invaders' ships. Armed with this terrifying revelation, Jake’s motivation shifts from mere self-preservation to absolute redemption. As the posse tracks the alien mothership across the unforgiving landscape, they are temporarily captured by displaced Apache warriors who initially blame the white men for the sky-demons. However, after Ella is fatally wounded and mysteriously resurrected by the Apache’s sacred waters—revealing she, too, is a survivor of a previous alien attack—the two groups unite. The climactic battle takes place at a heavily fortified alien encampment. Jake leads the combined forces of outlaws, townspeople, and Native Americans in a desperate, full-scale assault against the heavily armed extraterrestrials. Utilizing the metallic weapon locked to his arm, Jake breaches the main stronghold. He confronts the grotesque alien leader face-to-face, ultimately sacrificing his leverage to detonate the shackle, destroying the mothership and vaporizing the invaders in a blinding explosion. With the captives freed and the immediate threat neutralized, Dolarhyde acknowledges Jake as a hero. True to his solitary nature, Jake rides back into the wilderness, finally at peace with his identity and his past.
