The film follows Samantha, a young woman struggling with personal and financial instability, whose life spirals into a terrifying waking nightmare after a fateful night out. At a party hosted by her estranged girlfriend, Nikki, a distressed and intoxicated Samantha is sexually assaulted by a
mysterious stranger in the back of a car. Unaware of the true horror of what has transpired, Samantha wakes up the next morning confused, bruised, and feeling intensely ill, assuming the physical toll is merely the aftermath of a severe hangover and the trauma of the assault. However, her condition rapidly deteriorates over the following days. Initially dismissing her symptoms—such as hair loss, severe fatigue, and strange discoloration—as stress or a stubborn infection, Samantha attempts to maintain her fragile relationship with Nikki and her job at a local flower shop. As time progresses, the degradation of her body accelerates into grotesque territory. Her flesh begins to rot, her fingernails fall out, and she suffers from sudden, violent bouts of illness and uncontrolled bodily fluids. Desperate for answers, she visits a doctor, but receives no proper diagnosis, only worsening her panic.Unbeknownst to Samantha, the man who assaulted her carried a necrotic, sexually transmitted parasite that aggressively eats away at human tissue while keeping the host alive. As the infection takes total control, Samantha undergoes disturbing behavioral changes, including overwhelming cannibalistic urges, erratic aggression, and memory blackouts. Terrified of what she is becoming, she tries to isolate herself, but her deteriorating state draws the concern of her mother and a suspicious
police detective investigating her disappearance from the party. The climax reaches a gruesome pitch when Samantha completely succumbs to the disease. She violently attacks and murders several people who try to help her, her humanity entirely stripped away by the pathogen. The film concludes on a chilling, apocalyptic note: Samantha's lifeless yet infected body is discovered, but the damage is already done. The terrifying parasite has successfully been transmitted to others, setting the stage for a widespread epidemic and revealing that Samantha’s tragic ordeal was merely patient zero in a much larger, catastrophic outbreak.
