Eight months after the gruesome events at Miskatonic University, obsessive scientist Dr. Herbert West and his impressionable colleague, Dr. Dan Cain, continue their blasphemous experiments in a remote New Orleans house. Motivated by an insatiable desire to conquer death, West has refined his fluorescent green re-agent, discovering it can now reanimate individual body parts and dead tissue without causing complete brain decay. Dan, meanwhile, is emotionally compromised, mourning the loss of his former girlfriend Megan and treating a terminally ill heart patient named Gloria, with whom he begins a passionate romance.West sees potential in Dan’s new lover, viewing Gloria’s failing heart as the ultimate puzzle to solve. However, their illicit activities do not go unnoticed. The relentless Police Lieutenant Leslie Brando, whose deceased wife was a victim of the previous Miskatonic massacre, is closing in on them. Simultaneously, the vindictive Dr. Wilbur Chapman, West’s former academic rival, becomes suspicious of their medical waste and uncovers their horrific secrets.Driven by his singular obsession, West decides to construct a brand-new woman from scratch, utilizing body parts harvested from morgues, fresh accident victims, and even the recently deceased Gloria, whose heart West extracts against Dan's wishes. During the violent confrontation, Chapman is killed by the doctors' mutated monstrosities and subsequently reanimated by West, while Brando is overwhelmed by a horde of failed experiments. As the authorities and the macabre creations clash, West and Dan successfully finish the procedure, finally activating the Bride with a fresh dose of the glowing green serum.The newly awakened Bride rises, symbolizing the pinnacle of West’s scientific arrogance. However, the experiment goes horribly awry when the Bride rejects both West and Dan, horrified by her own patchwork existence and the conflicting memories of Megan and Gloria warring inside her mind.
