Disgraced Kazakh journalist Borat Sagdiyev is released from a fourteen-year forced labor camp by the government of Kazakhstan. Prime Minister Nazarbayev tasks him with a secret mission: deliver a peace offering to the American regime to restore the nation's global reputation. The chosen bribe is Johnny the monkey, the country's premier minister of culture and national pornographer.Borat is smuggled onto a cargo ship bound for the United States, but upon arrival, he discovers that Johnny has unfortunately died during the voyage. Desperate and fearing execution upon his return, Borat decides that a suitable replacement bribe is his estranged, fifteen-year-old daughter, Tutar, who stowed away inside the monkey's crate, surviving by consuming the animal's remains.Initially viewing Tutar as worthless because she is female, Borat quickly realizes she can be packaged as a traditional gift for Vice President Mike Pence. Seeking guidance, Borat consults a local smartphone and two QAnon conspiracy theorists living in a secluded cabin, who tutor him in modern American lifestyles and bizarre political ideologies.Borat attempts to present Tutar to Mike Pence at a conservative political action conference, dressed as Donald Trump and carrying his daughter on his shoulders. Security swiftly thwarts the intrusion, prompting Borat to pivot. Realizing Tutar needs to be transformed into a sophisticated trophy wife to appeal to Rudy Giuliani, Borat takes her to a conservative boutique, a plastic surgeon, and a beauty pageant, where Tutar shocks the crowd with a traditional Kazakh menstrual dance.As they travel across America, Borat and Tutar undergo a profound psychological shift. Borat begins to genuinely love and respect his daughter, listening to her ambitions rather than treating her as property. Concurrently, Tutar discovers feminism, realizes women are not domesticated beasts of burden, and absorbs the reality of the outside world, including the truth about the Holocaust, which her father had taught her was a celebratory festival.When Borat learns that Kazakhstan’s regime plans to execute him for failing to deliver the original bribe, he falls into a deep depression, leading a heartbroken Tutar to abandon him and pursue her own path as a journalist. Eventually reuniting, the father-daughter duo stage a fake COVID-19 lockdown in the cabin, capturing global headlines. Ultimately, Borat returns to Kazakhstan, where he reveals that Tutar exposed the nation's true bribe—a deadly virus—to the world, inadvertently overthrowing the totalitarian government and establishing a democratic constitution where women are finally allowed to drive.
